Justin Diedrich, MD, is currently Fellow in Family Planning at Washington University in St Louis. He completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of California, Irvine. He has been active in the reproductive choice movement since he was an undergraduate. Since medical school he has been involved in clinical research of long-acting reversible contraceptives, abortion safety and barriers to access. Dr Diedrich has been published in numerous medical and scientific journals. He has been recognized as a young leader in the field of Reproductive Health by the National Abortion Federation. In 2008, the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals awarded Dr Diedrich the Preserving Core Values in Science Award for his part in uncovering that the word “abortion” had become a restricted search term in the POPLINE reproductive health Science Award for his part in uncovering that the word “abortion” had become a restricted search term in the POPLINE reproductive health 2009.
