Kelly Baden – Secretary

Director of State Advocacy

Center for Reproductive Rights -

New York,

NY

Kelly Baden is the Director of Reproductive Rights at State Innovation Exchange (SiX), an organization that supports state legislators who seek to strengthen our democracy, fight for working families, defend civil rights and liberties, and protect the environment. We do this through training, emphasizing leadership development, amplifying legislators’ voices, and forging strategic alliances between our legislative network and grassroots movements.

At SiX, Kelly is establishing the organization’s first issue-specific program. Previously, as the Director of State Advocacy for the Center for Reproductive Rights, Kelly oversaw state and local advocacy throughout the United States, including shaping policy and advocacy strategies in the states, leading convenings for state legislators, and building on-the-ground support for major initiatives ranging from U.S. Supreme Court cases to the Act for Women campaign. Kelly has also worked at the National Institute for Reproductive Health, Physicians for Reproductive health, Planned Parenthood Affiliates of New Jersey, and EMILY’s List.

Kelly has appeared on MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry Show and Up with Steve Kornacki, as well as in Time magazine, the Los Angeles Times, and The Advocate. Kelly serves on the board of URGE, Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity. You can follow Kelly on Twitter @KellyBaden.
