Birmingham Takes Action!

UAB students mobilized their peers to take action this March. They generated 48 calls to legislators, urging them to vote against the package of anti-choice bills in the house (expanding waiting periods, heartbeat bills, expanded prenatal consent requirements). They also generated 600 emails to all of the representatives on the House Health Committee. Way to go!

Ohio State stands up for rape victims

Ohio is 1 of 31 states that allow rapists to sue rape survivors for custody or visitation rates. Today students from our Ohio State University chapter delivered almost 60,000 signatures collected by UltraViolet to state Senator Eklund in support of a bill to change that.

Sextravaganza at Agnes Scott!

Agnes Scott College hosted their annual Sextravaganza this March! Sextravaganza is a three day event focused on sexual health outreach and education. Students partnered with campus and community groups, hosted a safe(r) sex presentation, and collected signatures in support of the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act!  With a 20% increase in participation, it was definitely a successful year!

University of Kansas shows it’s Pride!

Today, a major rally was held at the Kansas statehouse to oppose the proposed bill to legalize discrimination against LGBTQ folks. Our chapter at the University of Kansas showed up big time – with one leader speaking and others sporting these fabulous signs!

Texas A&M Raises Money to Fight Sexual Assault

Our chapter at the University Texas A&M raised money through donations for a “free” performance of the Vagina monologues, all proceeds benefiting our Sexual Assault Resource Center and V-Day International.

Wichita State Student Leader Interviewed For Local TV

Earlier this month students from our chapters all over Kansas traveled to the state capital to talk with their representatives about the importance of sex education. Wichita State leader Paul Brink was among those students and when we went back home to Wichita, the events attracted the attention of the local news station. Stanford raises valentine’s money

Stanford Students for Reproductive Justice decided to use this Valentine’s Day to raise funds and awareness for two wonderful causes — abortion funds and safe sex! In partnership with Stanford’s Birth Control Educators, they created and sold “condom roses” and donated the proceeds to The Lilith Fund, an abortion fund in Texas. Stanford took the opportunity to educate themselves and their community about the important and increasingly urgent role that abortion funds play in ensuring that folks can access abortion services.
