Alexis grew up a military brat, but claims Alaska and Ohio as her home states. She is a lawyer with experience organizing around progressive health policies as well as voter protection. Prior to joining URGE, she worked at the Health Insurance Counseling Project assisting the low-income elderly in DC navigating Medicare and Medicaid. During law school, she interned with the Department of Justice’s Legislative Affairs office; the Ohio Legislature, where she worked on reproductive justice and voting rights issues; and the Alaska Department of Law where she worked on Medicaid-related cases. She earned her JD from The Ohio State University and her BS from the University of Central Florida.
When not advocating for reproductive justice, she can be found getting out of the city to go hiking or camping as often as possible, re-watching Buffy for the millionth time, or playing with her dog, Annabelle.
