URGE Student Board Member 

Teannae Owens is from San Diego, California currently residing in Santa Barbara attending the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is in her third year studying Political Science and Environmental Studies with a focus on political theory and American policy. Working with the JustCARE campaign for CA SB 24, to bring medicated abortions to all California public higher education campuses, started Teannae’s passion for reproductive justice work. Since then, she has worked on the UCSB Human Rights Board, focusing on the subcommittee Students for Reproductive Justice, as well as joining URGE. Teannae is a current member of the URGE California UC Santa Barbara chapter, called Students for Reproductive Justice. 

She is especially passionate in advocacy work that centers on the Black community, environmental justice, and people who are currently and have formerly been incarcerated. In her free time. she loves to bake, make playlists, and drink overpriced coffee with her friends.
