Ways to vote in Georgia

Early in-person voting
Find available early voting locations by visiting the Secretary of State’s website and selecting your county of residence from the list. If no information is available, it may be too early and you should check back closer to the early voting period.

Election Day voting
You can vote in person on Election Day from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at your assigned polling place. If you are in line by 7 p.m., you will still be allowed to vote. You’ll need a government-issued photo ID to verify your identity.

Provisional ballot
A provisional ballot is a paper ballot used by a voter when their eligibility to vote cannot be determined at the polling place. If you believe you are registered vote but your name does not appear on the registration list, you must be permitted to cast a provisional ballot.

Absentee ballot aka, voting by mail
To vote by absentee ballot, you must first verify that you are registered to vote. You will then submit an absentee ballot application. You can do this online, by email, by mail, by fax, or in person. You can request you ballot a early as August 19, 2024 for the Nov. General Election and as late as October 25, 2024. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an absentee ballot at the address indicated on your application. Be sure to carefully read and follow instructions included in your absentee ballot to avoid going through the “curing” process.

What do you need to bring to vote in person in Georgia?

Bring a valid photo ID which include a driver’s license/state issued identification card or a U.S passport. The State of Georgia also offers a free voter ID card, which can be issued at any County Board of Registrar’s Office and can be used to vote.
