Our Folks: Voices of LGBTQ+ Youth of Color

For more than 10 years, URGE has helped build the capacity of young people who want to develop content about reproductive and gender justice, as seen through Our Folks: Voices of LGBTQ+ Youth Of Color fellowship program. After getting training in personal essay writing and digital activism, our spokespeople and storytellers have the opportunity to gain skills in giving media interviews, writing for a variety of blogs and media outlets, and using social media to amplify their work.

URGE is a domestic policy, culture shift, youth organizing, and civic engagement 501c3 focused on advancing the Young People’s Reproductive Justice Policy Agenda nationally and in our six investment states: Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Kansas, Ohio, and California. We align our time, resources, and focus on fighting for abortion access, trans youth, democracy, and immigrant rights in some of the most hostile places in the country. URGE programs coordinate and align toward our core constituencies, geographies, and domestic policy priorities.
