Diana Onken
(she/her/hers)
Chief Organizing Officer
Diana Onken (she/her) is URGE’s first Chief Organizing Officer (COO) where she leads the Field and Integrated Voter Engagement teams.
Diana brings more than two decades of experience leading large‑scale advocacy, electoral, and grassroots campaigns to her new role. A strategic executive with deep commitments to reproductive justice and working with young people to organize for change, she has overseen state and federal legislative campaigns, electoral initiatives, and family engagement programs at Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), blending advocacy, digital strategy, and organizing to secure meaningful wins for kids
Her passion for reproductive justice is rooted in years of leadership at NARAL Pro‑Choice America (now Reproductive Freedom for All), where she was the architect for high‑impact advocacy and grassroots political efforts. Diana’s commitment to youth organizing began early in her activism journey, starting with her college years when she mobilized students around issues like gender equity, environmental justice, and racial equity – experiences that shaped her belief in the power of young people to drive social change.
She lives in central Illinois with her family and a very naughty cat.
