Statement from Daniela Ochoa Diaz, Senior Director of Policy at URGE: Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity, on the confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr) to be Secretary of the Department of Health & Human Services.

“Yesterday’s vote in the Senate to confirm Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr) as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services is concerning to us all. RFK Jr has publicly supported a national abortion ban, spread dangerous misinformation about vaccines, and promoted deadly anti-science conspiracy theories. This latest confirmation, in conjunction with the intentional barrage of Executive Orders coming out of the Trump-Vance administration, is part of a larger strategy to keep us chasing the next threat, but we will not be deterred from our larger mission of fighting this attack on democracy.”
