How Self-Managed Abortion Can Empower Survivors of Domestic Violence

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This SMA Fest, we’re highlighting the ways that reproductive coercion is structurally upheld, and how survivors of DV/IPV can be empowered through informed decisions about their own bodies.

The National Domestic Violence Hotline reports that cases of abuse involving reproductive coercion nearly doubled in the year after Roe v. Wade was overturned.

Access to safe and supported self-managed abortion is central to the fight for survivor and reproductive justice.
