Vote No on August 4
Kansans all want courts that are fair and not bought by the highest bidder. On August 4, vote NO to stop billionaire political donors from turning our impartial justices into politicians for sale.
On August 4, Kansas voters will have a choice. We can keep our impartial court that has served Kansas for generations OR introduce money, polarization, and unpredictability in our court system.
The choice is clear. Vote NO to stop billionaire political donors from turning our impartial justices into politicians for sale.
Our Current System Works
Kansas’s current system of selecting Supreme Court Justices uses a merit-based nominating commission. That commission interviews candidates and puts forward nominees. The Governor appoints a Justice from three nominees, and Kansans then vote in retention elections to hold justices accountable.
The current system is transparent, tested, and trusted.

Keeping Billionaires Out of the Judicial Selection Process
The proposed amendment would abolish the expert commission. It would replace merit selection with partisan, money-driven elections – turning impartial justices into politicians dependent on campaign donors.
The result: billionaire political donors buying the court to rubber stamp their dangerous agenda.
From banning abortion to gutting public school funding to jacking up our prices without accountability, if the amendment passes, everyday Kansans will be hurt.
