Voting is One Way We Protect Our Community
Voting determines the conditions we fight for our community under. It is not an expression of loyalty to a person or system, nor is it a duty. It is a strategic tool communities use to reduce harm and protect one another.
Engaging your community and equipping them with the information they need to vote is another way of saying we protect us.

Key legal reminders: When representing URGE and talking about voting in person or on social media:
- Do not indicate any support for –or against – any particular political party or candidate
- Do not invite candidates to events you’re hosting under the URGE brand.
- Because of URGE’s nonprofit status, our election-related messages cannot refer to partisan issues (e.g., abortion, LGBTQ, etc.). You can talk about voting OR these issues – but not both.
- Not talking about voting? You may talk about abortion, LGBTQIA+ rights and protections, etc. as much as you’d like!
