Scripps Hosts Reproductive Egg Hunt
April 24, 2012
A new URGE chapter at Scripps College came up with a fun way to increase visibility and raise awareness about the new group. Our members prepared more than 200 eggs – each stuffed with a reproductive health fact, some chocolate, and a condom – and hid them on the main lawn for a reproductive justice egg hunt. About 40 new students participated and the winning team gathered an impressive 25 eggs.
But this group is about more than fun and games – they’ve already begun planning for next year, including an advocacy day to talk to their elected officials and volunteering to escort at a local abortion clinic.
