Call Congress and Demand Abortion Access for All!
Your representatives need to know that you support abortion access for all, no matter where they live, their age, what insurance they use, or how much money they make. Restricting abortion puts our lives, families and communities at risk.
That’s why we are calling Congress in support of the EACH Woman Act today. This bill would lift bans on insurance coverage for abortion, meaning many more people would be able to afford an abortion when they need one. The EACH Woman Act ensures coverage for abortion for every person however much they earn, how they are insured, or where they live.
On October 6th, make your voice heard – Call your Representative and ask them to co-sponsor the EACH Woman Act!
Here is how you do it:
1. Find your Representative at: http://www.contactingthecongress.org/ *Be sure you use the address where you are registered to vote!
2. Ask them to co-sponsor the EACH Woman Act! Here is an example of the script you can use:
If your Representative is not currently a co-sponsor:
Hello, my name is ______ and I attend ______. As one of your constituents I want to urge you to co-sponsor the EACH Woman Act. Someone’s income or insurance policy should not dictate whether they have access to abortion. Restricting abortions through restrictions on Medicaid unfairly targets low-income people, women of color, and young people. Please consider co-sponsoring the EACH Act and helping to ensure that everyone can access the healthcare they need. Thank you.
If your Representative has already co-sponsored:
Hello, my name is ______ and I attend ______. As one of your constituents I want to thank you for becoming a co-sponsor of the EACH Woman Act. Someone’s income or insurance policy should not dictate whether they have access to abortion. Restricting abortions through restrictions on Medicaid unfairly targets low-income people, women of color, and young people. Thank you for your leadership on this issue and I hope you continue to make a priority. Thank you.
3. Spread the word and ask others to call their Representatives too!
